AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Vintage very Rare wooden flute from the maker "Christensen" in Boston, Massachusetts (serial 1246), CIRCA around 1920'S

There don't appear to be any breaks or cracks, and the key mechanism seems to be working well (though I'm no expert—I had a flutist try it out and say that the keywork is good but needs a full adjustment) As for the pads, they look fine too (though, of course, they'll probably need to be adjusted).

Christensen was a fine maker who worked for Haynes and started his own company around 1913 or so.The wood flutes are grenadilla with silver or plated mechanism and usually pitched at A=435 Hz. The flute has a B-C trill rather than the modern Bb-B.

The middle wooden part seems to be more " red " color than the black head and blacker down part ...I don't know why !!

Solid Silver Keys ???? a friend of mine says me, that this maker make some flute with solid silver keys, I dont know about this one but I tested with a special kit for testing silver and it appear that it is ( I don't know the concentration or percentage of silver but it react = turn to red color, when I test the metal of the ring and one key )

Total length is around 68,5 or 69 cm

Be aware that you could have customs and taxes in your countries..

The case is not original ( from an alto flute brand Armstrong )
