Piotr Wrona, Martwa natura, acrylic on linen canvas, 90 × 90 cm, signed, original edition, 2026, in excellent condition, an expressionist still life from Poland.
Description from the seller
Artist: Piotr Wrona
Title: Still Life
Technique: acrylic paints on linen canvas
Format: 90 × 90 cm
Support: high-quality linen canvas stretched on a solid painting frame with a profile of 3 × 5 cm
Description of the painting:
The composition is created in a strongly stylized and decorative manner, using flat, expressive color patches and clearly defined outlines. Dominant are intense color contrasts incorporating shades of blue, turquoise, violet, green, orange, red, and yellow.
The central and upper parts of the composition are filled with simplified leaf forms of varied shapes. Their structure is emphasized by contrasting lines and clearly marked veins. The plant forms are presented in a planar manner, with limited spatial modeling.
In the lower part of the image there are rounded fruit forms and a multicolored vessel. Individual elements are built using contrasting color patches, lines, and simplified internal divisions. The composition also includes geometric and patterned decorative elements.
The background consists of overlapping planes of intense colors. Distinct color contrasts and dark outlines separate the individual forms. The composition is devoid of classical perspective and realistic modeling, and the spatial relations are subordinated to the arrangement of patches, lines, and shapes.
The visible texture of acrylic paint, brush strokes, and local variation in the thickness of the paint are evident. Brushstrokes run in various directions, creating additional rhythm on the surface. The use of saturated colors, contrasting outlines, simplified forms, and varied texture creates a cohesive, expressive painting structure.
