Description from the seller

Table Oil Lamp in 800 Silver and Worked Glass - Italy, Milan - 20th Century

Refined and important Italian-made table oil lamp, with a structure in 800/1000 silver and finely worked transparent glass components.

The lamp features a rich decorative finish of classical taste, with pierced elements, vegetal and ornamental motifs, round figures, and finely chased details.

Especially elaborate is the central silver body, characterized by a bulging and fluted surface, enhanced laterally by decorative figures. The structure rests on a contoured base supported by four ornamental feet.

The upper part is completed by an elegant glass shade/chimney worked glass, with a distinctive elongated shape and a flared upper opening. The glass presents molded and faceted geometric decorations that enhance the luminosity of the whole.

There are also additional worked glass components and the original elements of the lamp system, as documented in the photographs.

On the metallic structure the punch “800” is clearly visible, indicating silver fineness of 800/1000, and the Italian silversmith’s mark with the initials MI, referable to the province of Milan.
