Thinks-I-to-Myself
A Serio-Ludicro, Tragico-Comico Tale

Complete two-volume comic novel written anonymously under the persona "Thinks-I-to-Myself, Who?" by the English clergyman and Oxford professor Edward Nares. The book uses dry humour and wry self-reflection to poke fun at the pretensions, vanity, and social climbing of Regency-era high society

Published by London: printed for Sherwood Neely and Jones; J. Hatchard; and J. Asperne, 1812. Publisher’s original full calf brown boards. The spines with six compartments and gilt lettering to second compartments.

Book Dimensions: 18 x 11 cm
Number of pages (2 Volumes): 227 + 215

Condition
Some scuffing to the spine cloths of both volumes, with missing parts. The external covers, with wear at corners, and edges. The front and rare cover of first volume are detached, while still tight and attached firmly with the second volume. Internally; the books in good condition. Previous owner label on inside cover page of the second volume. Pages are clean, slightly browned with age, and with occasional light foxing or marks to few pages. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters. The engraving plate in good condition (Please see pictures).
