Description from the seller
The Riesling Clos Hauserer 2022 from Domaine Zind Humbrecht embodies the excellence of Alsace Riesling. This dry white wine comes from a 1.2-hectare monopole vineyard, created by Léonard Humbrecht in 1973 and located just below the prestigious Grand Cru Hengst, in the town of Wintzenheim.
Its Oligocene marno-calcareous terroir, enriched by slope colluvium, gives the wine a precise mineral character, vibrant acidity, and a vertical structure that guarantee great finesse and remarkable aging potential. The old vines, planted over 50 years ago, bring density, complexity, and length on the palate.
On the nose, Clos Hauserer 2022 reveals a mineral and smoky profile, punctuated by citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), white fruits (pear, mirabelle plum) and a touch of limestone. On the palate, it is ample, suave and harmonious, with a dry, saline, and mouth-watering finish that invites immediate tasting as well as aging in the cellar.
Vinified in organic and biodynamic farming (Demeter certification), this dry Riesling (sugar index 1) accurately expresses the personality of its terroir. It pairs perfectly with seafood, noble fish (sea bass, lobster), fine poultry, or aged cheeses.
Serving tips: serve between 10 and 12 °C, ideally after aeration in a decanter for an hour to reveal its full complexity.
