Henri Dethier (1939–2009) is a Belgian painter, born in Brussels/Schaerbeek, particularly known for his paintings of trams, trains and railway equipment.

He began drawing trains, trams and military vehicles from childhood. He then studied painting, graphic arts and advertising at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Brussels, and later worked in advertising illustration.

He spent more than twenty years in China for professional reasons, while continuing his artistic activity. His work constitutes, in particular, a kind of pictorial history of Belgian rail, depicting vehicles and railway scenes from different eras.
