Description from the seller
19 issues of the magazine Kijk with war news
The booklet Periscoop Op!
The Knickerbocker Weekly, volume 5, number 27, 27-08-1945.
The booklet Het Britsche Leger van thans.
All is over 80 years old!!
The issues of Kijk are in reasonable condition. Except for one page in part 13, everything is complete. Here and there small tears, discolorations, corners creased and a slightly damaged spine. See also the accompanying photos. This is an impression; not everything is photographed. It concerns parts 1-7-11-12-13 -14-15-16 (2x present), 17-18-19-20-21-22-24-25-27-28-29/30-extra issue.
Added is part 23 but that one is in bad condition.
Kijk appeared twice a month. Publication of the “American Ministry of Information”. The sole purpose of KIJK was to depict the present in words and images in the Low Countries during the liberation and until magazines could appear in freedom themselves.
The booklet “Periscoop Op!” is in good condition. This booklet concerns the wartime history of the submarine service of the Royal Navy.
“The Knickerbocker Weekly” is in fairly good condition. This was a Dutch- and English-language magazine that specifically targeted Dutch people who had emigrated to the United States before and during World War II.
The booklet “Het Britsche Leger van thans” is in very good condition. It describes all aspects of the British Army in 1945.
