Description from the seller
** RESERVE PRICE: 99 euros**
Artist’s poster by Yoko Ono, produced in 2003 as part of Utopia Station, a project presented at the 50th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.
Yoko Ono (Tokyo, 1933) is one of the most recognizable figures of conceptual and avant-garde international art, active since the sixties through performance, participatory art, music and experimentation. The theme of peace runs through a fundamental part of her artistic research, making “Imagine Peace” one of the messages most immediately associated with her work.
Utopia Station was a large collective and interdisciplinary project curated by Molly Nesbit, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Rirkrit Tiravanija, conceived as an open space for meeting, reflection and artistic production around the concept of utopia.
For the project, a series of 139 different artist posters was produced, with contributions from numerous figures in the international art scene. This exemplar constitutes Yoko Ono’s contribution to the series.
The exemplar is produced on thin-weight paper, loose-leaf, produced for posting as part of the exhibition, as indicated directly by the Historical Archive of Contemporary Arts of the Venice Biennale.
It is therefore not a later decorative reproduction, but an original 2003 artist’s poster produced for Utopia Station at the Venice Biennale.
