Bronze sculpture signed Luca Madrassi bearing the inscription « L.MADRASSI ». Seal or sculpture depicting the crowned head of Christ. Height 7.5 cm - Width: 4 cm - 240 g. Very good condition - Original gold patina well preserved.

Luca Madrassi (1848-1919) was a French artist of Italian origin, mainly known for his Art Nouveau bronze sculptures representing mythological, allegorical, and rustic figures. His work was influenced by the famous French illustrator and sculptor Gustave Doré. Born on June 8, 1848 in Tricesimo, Italy, he later studied with Pierre-Jules Cavelier at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, then worked in Doré's studio. Madrassi exhibited at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français from 1879, becoming a French citizen in 1890. The artist died in 1919 in Paris, France.
