Description from the seller
Ton Steine Scherben – IV (Die Schwarze) – 2xLP – David Volksmund Produktion 2001-1 – INDIGO repress with barcode 4015698 200119
For sale: the legendary "Black Album" – IV, the double album from 1981 by Ton Steine Scherben, the seminal German political rock collective fronted by Rio Reiser.
Also known as "Die Schwarze" due to its stark black cover, IV is the band's most diverse and mature work. Recorded in 1980 at David Volksmund Studio, Fresenhagen, it moves away from pure agit-rock to incorporate folk, punk, art-rock and singer-songwriter elements, inspired by tarot cards. A cult milestone of German counterculture.
Track highlights include Jenseits von Eden, Bleib wo du bist, Der Turm stürzt ein, Ebbe und Flut, and Heimweh.
Pressing details:
2xLP, Gatefold, Cat# 2001-1, David Volksmund Produktion, LC 3773, GEMA. This is the sought-after analog repress from the late 80s / early 90s distributed by INDIGO (barcode 4 015698 200119 on back cover), using original plates cut at Teldec Studio. Black labels with David Volksmund Produktion logo.
Condition:
