Description from the seller
These are three spermathecae that house three varieties of cereals (barley, oats, maize) belonging to a botanical/agronomic collection curated by the F.lli Ingegnoli botanical-agricultural establishment in Milan. Thick glass cylinders with a sealed aluminum cap; height 30 cm, diameter 9 cm.
They were part of the collection of the 'Ambulant Chair of Agriculture' established in Piacenza in May 1897, on the initiative of the Piacenza Agricultural Consortium, chaired by Giacomo Riva. At the time of its establishment the Chair had jurisdiction over the entire provincial territory and, with the suppression of the Ambulant Chair of Agriculture of Bobbio in 1927, extended control also to the municipalities of Bobbio, Pecorara, Ottone, Trebecco, Caminata, Corte Brugnatella, Zerba and Cerignale. It was suppressed in 1935 and its functions were transferred to the Provincial Agriculture Inspectorate of Piacenza.
They may be shipped by courier, packaged.
