AUTHENTICITY, CONDITIONS AND DOCUMENTATION

Verifying the condition and authenticity is a central element of our activity. Jewelry in gold and silver, silverware, watches, signed clothing and accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the individual item and the available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when expressly indicated in the description or can be requested before the offer, agreeing availability, content and any costs. The review by Catawiki experts is separate from our expert appraisal activity and does not replace an individual certificate.

Description and photographs document the proposed item, its accessories and the declared conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of time and use are evaluated in relation to the nature, era and condition of the item. Photographs complement the description without limiting responsibility for incorrect features or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents expressly indicated are included. The brands mentioned belong to their respective owners; mentioning them identifies the objects and does not imply affiliation or authorization from the house.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized in a manner compatible with the materials and its preservation, then carefully packed.

Shipping is tracked and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be in different warehouses: expect roughly 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise noted in the order, for special destinations or customs times. Shipping will occur under the terms provided by Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not extend the shipping deadline.

Upon receipt, check the packaging. In the presence of dents, tears, openings or breakages, ask the courier to note a specific reservation, when possible. We advise photographing the package before and after opening and keeping packaging, protections and label to facilitate possible insurance checks.

The absence of a reservation, photos or packaging does not automatically determine the loss of consumer rights. In consumer sales, the risk of transport is governed by art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or problem, contact us via the order messaging on Catawiki, indicating the lot number and describing what you found.

In case of damage, item not conforming to the description, or missing content, promptly report the issue also to Catawiki support, preferably immediately and in any case within the 3 days provided by the platform procedure, to enable claims handling and possible suspension of payment.

This operational term does not imply forfeiture of the right of withdrawal or the legal guarantee under applicable terms.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the purchaser acts as a consumer and legal requirements exist, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without justification within 14 days of receipt of the goods, pursuant to Articles 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005, subject to exceptions provided by law.

The decision must be communicated by explicit declaration to the seller, also using the Catawiki procedure. The item must be returned within 14 days of withdrawal notification.

For simple reconsideration, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. Amounts due by law, including standard initial delivery costs, will be refunded; higher costs of a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are non-refundable.

Refund is made without undue delay and within legal terms, with the possibility of suspending it until the item is received or a proof of return is provided, under the conditions provided by the regulations. Amounts collected directly by Catawiki are managed through the platform according to their respective competencies, without prejudice to non-derogable rights.

The buyer is responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify the nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within legal limits.

LEGAL GUARANTEE AND DEFECTS OF CONFORMITY

In consumer sales, the legal conformity guarantee provided by Articles 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code applies, even for used goods, taking into account prior use and contractually declared characteristics.

The ordinary duration of liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, any reduction, but not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and allowed by the applicable regulations.

In the presence of a conformity defect, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by law: repair or replacement, where practicable, or reduction of price or contract termination when the conditions apply.

Our commercial preference is to resolve valid disputes by returning the item and providing a full refund when appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return is due to a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary costs are on us within the terms of the law. Costs for other scenarios of cancellation are determined by the cause of cancellation and the applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before performing repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, contact us to allow problem verification and agreement on the solution. Unauthorized interventions may alter the original state, compromise assessments and affect liability for damages or defects caused by them.

Automatic refunds for interventions commissioned independently from third parties are not provided. The buyer’s non-derogable rights remain: an unauthorized intervention does not, by itself, automatically deprive any protection for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include the accessories and documents received and be protected with appropriate packaging. Please include the order reference and, if available, a copy of the sales document. The original receipt is not the only accepted means to prove purchase.

EXTRA-EU SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS DUTIES

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and customs clearance fees may apply, depending on the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be considered automatically due a second time.

When required, tax or identification data may be requested for clearance. The passport number will be requested only if actually necessary under applicable rules or the carrier’s or competent authority’s documented instructions.

We invite buyers to check for import restrictions in advance. For goods subject to special regimes, including CITES or cultural goods, shipping remains subject to the legal possibility of export and import and to the necessary documents.

CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION AND DATA PROTECTION

In the case of distance selling of precious items subject to identification obligations, a valid identity document is required and remote identification is performed according to the modalities provided by the applicable regulations.

If essential information is missing to comply with a legal obligation, the transaction cannot be completed until regularization. Any cancellation and refund will be handled with Catawiki according to the applicable regulations and conditions, without automatic disqualification of responsibility.

Personal data will be processed for contractual, fiscal, customs and applicable legal obligations, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only data necessary will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention times.
