Hebdomas 8 days pocket watch with a rare wavy silver 0.800 case, manual winding, silver case, signed on both the dial and movement, circa 1910–1920 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland; featuring a well-preserved white enamel dial with floral details, a six-day power reserve when fully wound, and in good condition with visible wear while in working order.
Description from the seller
A beautiful silver 8-day pocket watch, signed “Hebdomas” on both the dial and the movement; La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, circa 1910–1920.
This particular Hebdomas is notable for its exceptionally well-preserved white enamel dial, decorated with floral gold- and silver-coloured details. Another distinctive feature is the unusual wavy shape of the 0.800 silver case, which is rarely encountered. Please also note the bow, which has been specially designed to match the shape of the case. In addition, the movement retains a well-preserved mainspring, providing a power reserve of approx. six days when fully wound. Many surviving vintage Hebdomas watches offer a considerably shorter power reserve, as their mainsprings have weakened over time.
The watch has recently received a partial service, as shown in the photographs. Important components were disassembled, cleaned and lubricated with Swiss Moebius oil. When fully wound, the watch currently shows a daily rate deviation of approx. one to two minutes and provides the long power reserve described above.
The dark areas visible on the case in the photographs are normal silver tarnishing and may be polished if desired. To avoid excessive polishing, the watch is offered in the condition shown. The future owner may choose either to polish the case further or to preserve its current vintage appearance.
Fast and reliable shipping via DHL EXPRESS WITH TRACKING (Austria, Germany, Italy and Turkey: Austrian Post Registered, insured & tracked). Pictures are part of the description, customs duties and additional expenses for shipping outside the EU (European Union) shall be borne by the buyer.
