Description of the object
Refined sculpture depicting the bodhisattva Guanyin (goddess of mercy and compassion) seated in a meditative pose on a lotus-shaped throne.
The work is entirely hand-carved from a block of natural pink quartz, characterized by a pleasant pink hue and good translucency. The figure is completed by its original dark wood base finely carved and custom fretworked.
Conditions and notes on the mineral:
The piece is in overall good condition. The surface of the quartz is intact and smooth to the touch. The lines and inclusions visible inside the stone's structure (on the body and face) are natural inclusions and fractures of pink quartz, typical of the rough stone.
An excellent piece for collectors of Oriental art, sculptures in hard stones and worked minerals.
