Description:
Beautiful vintage decorative set consisting of 4 objects in translucent natural stone of calcite onyx, in lovely cream, honey, and pale green hues.
The lot includes a sculpted Nefertiti bust, height 11 cm, weight 290 g; a tabletop carved stone lighter, height 10 cm, weight 501 g, bearing under the base the mark Alabastros San José – Artesanos – Made in Spain; a round polished stone box with a gilded metal bezel and floral design on the lid, weight 275 g; as well as an ashtray in calcite onyx with gilded bezel and a charming musical putto/angel, weight 640 g.
The stones show beautiful natural color variations, translucent areas, and brown and honey veins characteristic of decorative calcite. The set is particularly harmonious and forms a nice group of vintage decorative objects.
Overall good condition given its age, with some normal signs of use and small time marks visible in the photographs. No significant treatment or restoration observed.
Origin: Spain for the Alabastros San José lighter; origin unidentified for the other three pieces.
