Description from the seller

About the series "Galaxy Advertising"

In Galaxy Advertising, Kobalt invents a language no one speaks, not even himself. An unlikely blend of weightless Cyrillic and Martian calligraphy vaguely Asian, this script is supposed to be the most spoken in neighboring galaxies… No need to try translating it: it says nothing, yet it says it beautifully. A cosmic wink to a communication from very, very far away, or just from another imagination...

Biographie / Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the career of a polymorphic artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a designer, Kobalt discovers very early his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to make a bold decision: to invest the money intended to finance his higher education in creating his first album.

Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a rich experimental artistic career.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt enters the world of advertising as a designer/writer for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he unleashes his creativity by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photography agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted art creation, Kobalt stands out with more than 3000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reappropriating magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt chose to stay off social media, thereby preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
