Necklace made of rare jet beads - Silver - Middle East/Central Asia - 19th century

Very special necklace with antique Persian geometric ancient git (jet) beads originally from the Middle East/Central Asia.
These rare beads were gladly worn and are said to repel and dispel negative energy.
Git is an opaque black ancient, organic 'stone' usually described as a form of fossilized wood. The beads were probably made from the ancient material in the 19th century (perhaps earlier). The length of the necklace is 56 cm and the larger beads between the gits are sterling silver. The antique clasp is also silver and the beads are re-strung.
