AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Mixed media painting. Painted with acrylics and refreshed this year (2026); the batik itself was created several years earlier. Dimensions: 71 x 35 cm. Inspired by a self-portrait by Egon Schiele.
Batik involves applying hot wax to fabric, then dyeing it in dye baths. A characteristic feature of this technique is the network of cracks formed by the wax cracking. Raw batiks lit from behind like stained glass take on more intense colors. In this case, when the batik was partly painted, this effect appears only on the unpainted areas.
The work is loosely framed in bamboo, allowing it to be sent rolled up. However, if someone prefers framed pictures, the staples attaching the batik to the bamboo can easily be removed. Sold without a frame – the image presented in a black frame is a computer simulation.

The author of the work is Adela Marchewka, a graduate of higher artistic studies with a Master of Arts degree. After completing her studies, she explored the techniques of batik (wax painting) and attended the Open Academy in the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She has participated in many exhibitions. Member of the Polish Association of Visual Artists.

The batik is sent rolled up, without a frame. Tracking-enabled shipping will be carefully secured and sent within 3 business days. Personal pickup is possible.
