Full-size violin labelled Georges Chanot, wood, 0.5 kg, with chin rest and strings, tested and working, in excellent condition; country of origin unknown.

Up for auction is a nice old vintage full size french violin for professional musician or collector.
The label says: Georges Chanot quai malaquais 1 a Paris annee 1851.
The strongly flamed one piece maple back with pearl inlays measures 359 mm.
The total length of the violin is 593 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm.
Straight high to medium grained spruce top.
There are no cracks or repairs.
Original golden amber varnish. Interesting inlaid purfling.
Sweet and rich sound.
