Sigismond Jean-Ernest Jeanès is a French landscape painter and watercolorist, largely self-taught.

He began in Nancy in the Art Nouveau milieu, then travelled widely in Europe, as well as to India and China. He stayed particularly in Italy and South Tyrol, where he found his main subjects: Venice, the Alps and the Dolomites.

From 1906, he exhibited at the Salon d’Automne and then at the Society of Independent Artists. His work is distinguished by watercolors, temperas and paintings that emphasize light, atmosphere and mist effects.

Two works are in national collections: Sunset at the Musée d’Orsay and The Trees at Puteaux in the Louvre Museum.
