2005 Comte Liger-Belair, La Colombiere - Vosne-Romanée Grand Cru - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

A very special and rare Burgundy from the prestigious Vosne-Romanée: the La Colombière 2005 from Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair.

Comte Liger-Belair belongs to the most sought-after names from Vosne-Romanée. The estate is known for its small production, classical style and wines with great finesse and terroir expression. La Colombière is a lieu-dit in Vosne-Romanée, located near the village's famous Grand Cru vineyards. For this cuvée very old vines were used, reportedly about 70 to 80 years old.

2005 is regarded as an excellent Burgundy year, with ripe, concentrated yet simultaneously elegant red wines. La Colombière 2005 beautifully shows this character: in the glass it develops aromas of red fruit, strawberry and red berry, complemented by black tea, exotic spices and subtle earthy and oaken notes. On the palate the wine is refined and silky, with fresh acidity, fine tannins and a long, elegant finish.
