AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Small-format bronze sculpture, limited edition by the Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto.

Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the specialty of artistic carpentering at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing, or modeling, and more importantly, with workshop work.

Later he enrolled in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Trades in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what will later be his main discipline: sculpture. It is at this school that he already worked with materials that will be basic in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel, Porto continues his personal training and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes.

After this first stage of training, he decides to set up his workshop on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals when communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the usual tone of his works, thus giving complexity and depth to his entire body of work, with themes that touch both the social sphere and his personal experiences.
