AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

SEVILLA is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that captures the essence of movement, elegance, and the cultural identity of southern Spain.

The female figure, in full dance gesture, becomes the axis of the composition. The flight of the dress, built from dynamic folds and contrasts of color, conveys rhythm and energy, evoking the spirit of flamenco without the need for explicit narrative.

The use of a vibrant palette — deep blues, warm accents, and bold reds — reinforces the passionate character of the scene, while the marked black stroke simplifies the form and makes it a symbol.

The clean background enhances the presence of the figure, isolating it as a contemporary icon that dialogues with the language of poster art and pop.

SEVILLA is a visual celebration of movement, tradition, and the expressive force of the body, transformed into an timeless image.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
