AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A rare pair of Holy Water fonts made of richly engraved and chased silver. The decorations feature myths of marine creatures (tritons), stylized floral and vegetal motifs.

18th-century Italian manufacture, specifically from Mantua.
For comparison I have attached photos of the marks present on the objects, and photos of the pages of the reference book on silver marks ("Poinçons d'Argent de la Tardy") dedicated to 18th-century Italian marks.

Measurements:
- 180 mm x 98 mm
- 170 mm x 97 mm

Total weight: 173 grams

One of the fonts shows traces of tin (old restoration), while the other has a small flaw on the bottom. Overall they are in good condition considering their age.

The fonts are sold together with their vintage stand lined in velvet, which makes them easily hangable or suitable for display in a shop window.

The lot is cleaned and inspected before being professionally packed and shipped with insured and trackable shipping.
