The Altarino de "La Papessa": An Iconic Work for Francioni Mastromarino
An Artistic Manifesto against what is more than a stereotype, an archetype of culture, the Patriarchy.
"L'Altarino de La Papessa" speaks about gender dynamics and overcoming patriarchal conventions.
The work is rich in symbolism to be discovered with observation, such as the vulva stylized in bronze that enriches the headdress like a gem.
The materials used are sustainable: made of non-toxic hydro-resin, flame-retardant and rice husk, an ethical choice that combines innovation and environmental respect not for marketing but as a modus operandi in all the artists' works. The aluminum background on sheet ispatinated with copper-colored leaf.
The sculpture is a unique piece in 8 exemplars with Arabic numerals and 4 proof editions with Roman numerals.
Its design adapts to both modern and classical contexts, becoming the fulcrum of any space and a starting point for deep conversations about contemporary society.
"La Papessa" is a figurative and at the same time conceptual work that invites reflection on power hierarchies and female emancipation.
Fruit of the collaboration between Eleonora Francioni and Antonio Mastromarino, artists active for over twenty years, "La Papessa" represents their ongoing search for female identity and the use of environmentally compatible materials. Their works are part of prestigious private collections in Europe and the United States, confirming the cultural and collecting value of their creations.
Certificate of Authenticity: Signed by the artists, guaranteeing the originality of the work.
Safe and Sustainable Shipping: The work is packed in a sturdy box for overseas shipments, padded with recycled cardboard shavings.
Certificate of Free Export: For shipments outside the EU, the work is accompanied by an official document issued by the Soprintendenza delle Belle Arti of Florence.
