Description from the seller
Scrooge McDuck — “Black Pearl Edition”
- Limited Special Edition: Black Pearl Edition, a more sophisticated and luxurious interpretation of Okyes' sculpture, marked by the contrast between deep black, gold, and transparent crystals.
- The sculpture is coated with approximately 18,000 crystals, applied manually, one by one, in an extremely meticulous and time-consuming process.
- In this edition, the restrained and elegant palette reinforces the character's iconic side: black conveys sobriety and presence, while the golden details and crystal reflections add richness and luminosity. The result is a more minimalist, exclusive, and luxurious piece, without losing the Pop and contemporary language characteristic of the artist.
- Light completely transforms the artwork. Depending on the environment and viewing angle, thousands of tiny reflections trace the surface of the sculpture. Photographs struggle to fully convey this effect. Video of the piece can be seen on Instagram @mydream_gallery_pt, where the shine and reflections of the crystals are much more evident.
- The entire process is carried out by the artist. This lot also includes a photograph documenting different stages of the sculpture's creation.
- This contemporary interpretation of Scrooge McDuck crosses one of the greatest symbols of wealth and ambition in popular culture with aesthetics inspired by Pop Art, Street Art, and contemporary luxury art.
- Premium shipping via DHL Express, with careful packaging, insured shipping, and photographs of the packaging process sent to the buyer. Full availability to assist and accompany throughout the process until delivery.
