Presence in Shards is a contemporary figurative work in which the female face appears through a purposely fragmented and expressive construction.

The artist plays on the contrast between flat color fields, incisive black lines, and areas of paper left intentionally visible. The face does not reveal itself at a single glance: it is built gradually, between suggestion and deconstruction.

The red, pink and blue tones add a sensorial and emotional dimension to the composition, while the black gestures strongly structure the silhouette and give the work its graphic character. the drips and gestural traces fully participate in the painting’s energy.
