"Le Reflet du Fuji" takes place in a quiet Japanese study at the first hour of dawn, where the shoji doors are open to a still mountain lake and Mount Fuji rises in the distance, its snowy peak turning pink and gold. Cherry trees bloom along the shore, mist drifts low over the water, and the whole sky seems to have been poured into the lake.

At a low lacquered desk, a woman sits with her back to the viewer, a floral silk kimono slipped from her shoulders, and glances back with a calm, unhurried look. Across her back, a dragon coils among cherry blossoms in fine black ink, a private mark carried quietly. Around her, the room holds its small rituals: an iron teapot on its tray, a pot of ink brushes, an open book, a paper lantern still glowing against the morning, and a hanging scroll that reads 静寂, silence.

The first light of the mountain is reflected everywhere, on the water, on the polished wood and on her skin. The scene feels like a morning that has not yet decided to begin, a moment of stillness shared between a person, a room and a landscape.

The artwork explores themes such as silence and stillness, the meeting of tradition and personal mark, the passage of dawn and the dialogue between interior and landscape.
