Large urn / Italian vintage porcelain and gilded metal centerpiece – ALFA brand
Large and scenographic Italian vintage decorative urn with lid, made of enamelled porcelain and enriched by elaborate gilded metal appliques.
The body features an intense red-bordeaux finish, alternating with white parts decorated with vivid polychrome floral garlands. The upper part is embellished with a wide perforated and chased band in gilded metal, while on the sides are applied two shaped handles with vegetal motifs and scrolls.
The urn rests on an elevated pedestal with a square base, also decorated with floral motifs and gilded metal finishes, supported by four ornamental feet. The domed lid ends with a small classical figure in gilded metal.
At the bottom there is a mark with a crown and the inscription “ALFA”, along with an original label “Made in Italy”, confirming Italian production.
Dimensions: about H 43 cm
Width including the handles: about 30 cm
Diameter of the bowl: about 23 cm
Base: about 16 × 16 cm
Weight: about 2.5 kg
The item is in vintage condition and shows signs of age and previous restoration work. On the inner edge of the bowl there is an old restoration, hidden externally by the wide decorative band in engraved metal. The lid also has a very fine thread, almost invisible to normal observation but still present, documented in the photographs. There are also slight signs of wear and oxidation on the metal parts, consistent with the age.
