Description from the seller

Title: Porcelain Still Life

School: European Impressionist (20th century)

Style: Impressionism / post-Impressionist still life

Technique: Oil on canvas

Circle and artistic influence:

Work linked to the European tradition of the modern still life, with influences from French painting of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The simplification of forms, the construction of volumes through chromatic masses, and the arrangement of jugs and containers especially recall the post-Impressionist renewal of the still life, while at the same time preserving a free brushstroke and a concern for light effects typical of the Impressionist sensibility.

Vertical-composition still life featuring a group of ceramic, porcelain, and glass containers distributed on a table and extended into a second plane. In the center a large white jug with rounded shapes stands out, accompanied by different bottles and containers in greenish, gray, and bluish tones.

The composition is completed with small reddish fruits scattered on the surface and a cloth in a vivid yellow-ochre tone placed in the lower left corner, an element that introduces a marked chromatic counterpoint against the predominantly grayish, earthy palette of the whole.

The brushwork is soft and atmospheric, with deliberately blurred contours and an object construction based more on relations of light, color, and volume than on meticulous definition. The restrained palette and the subdued lighting give the scene an intimate, silent atmosphere, while the layering of containers generates depth and dynamism within the composition.

The work is presented with a black-finished wooden frame, with straight, sober lines, featuring an inset stepped molding. Its simple, dark design creates a defined contrast with the painting without diminishing the prominence of the composition.

Notes

The work may incur damages during transport even with proper packaging. If so, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.

Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to factors such as being outside a continental territory, excessive size, or weight of the item. In no case will PremiArt cover this surcharge.

The courier passing through the Swiss border may be delayed much more than normal, so, if possible, to speed up the process we will provide the Customs number that is holding the shipment so the client can release it and thus reach its destination. Experience has shown this to be the most effective solution for both parties.

Due to the high volume of shipments, orders may be delayed more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging.
