Description from the seller
Interesting collection of five genuine ammonite fossils from Madagascar, displaying different sizes, colours and types of preparation.
The lot includes two large ammonites preserved in their natural condition, with clearly visible spiral forms and pronounced ribbing. Their original matrix, surface texture and warm earthy tones have been retained.
The collection also includes three smaller ammonites that have been cut and polished. Their preparation reveals the internal chambers, mineralisation and intricate suture patterns, with attractive shades of black, cream, amber, brown and grey.
Ammonites were marine cephalopods that inhabited prehistoric seas millions of years ago. Their distinctive spiral shells and complex internal structures make each specimen unique.
This varied group is ideal for collectors, educational purposes or as a natural decorative display.
Natural irregularities, incomplete areas, small fractures and colour variations are part of the fossils’ authenticity and preservation. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
