Harrie Kuyten (1883-1952) - Reclining nude

The work is a nicely detailed charcoal drawing of a reclining nude by the Dutch painter Harrie Kuyten (1883-1952). Although mostly known for portraits and landscapes in a style influenced by both impressionism and fauvism, he produced a number of graphical studies and worked-out paintings of nudes. The work is hand-signed in the lower right corner. The artwork itself measures 35 x 62 cm, and comes in a simple black wooden frame measuring 50 x 78 cm. The work is in excellent condition. There is a slight discolouration of the beige passepartout in the upper left corner. We inherited the work and it has been in our possession for over 20 years, but do not know its original provenance. It will be shipped as is.
