Description from the seller
Rare original 1927 advertising manifesto dedicated to Breda – Cantieri Aeronautici di Sesto San Giovanni, Milan.
The work, signed and dated “Negrin ’27” in the lower left, depicts an aircraft in flight above a spectacular composition of geometric shapes. Triangles, diagonals, and pointed profiles suggest speed, power, and a forward surge, transforming the landscape below into an almost abstract construction.
The graphic masterfully blends the elegance of Art Déco with the experiments of Italian Futurism: dynamic perspective, simplification of forms, and strong chromatic contrast convey the modernity and enthusiasm for aviation typical of the late 1920s.
Particularly fascinating is the large inscription “BREDA,” integrated into the composition through monumental, geometric lettering, flanked by red triangular elements. At the bottom, the facility for the construction of bombers, reconnaissance, fighters, training, and tourism aircraft is advertised, as well as the flying field and the training school.
An important testimony to the history of Italian aviation and of period advertising communication, ideal for collectors of historical posters, aeronautics, Art Déco, Futurism, and Italian graphics of the twentieth century.
The poster has been laminated for conservation purposes, an intervention that ensures stability and facilitates its display. It bears the natural signs of time compatible with its nearly hundred-year history, visible in the photographs, which confirm its charm and authenticity.
Overall dimensions: about 34 × 26 cm.
A poster of considerable interest for collectors of Italian historical aviation graphic advertising of the twentieth century, Futurism and Art Déco.
Original early edition of the period, printed lithographically.
The composition, extremely modern for the period, depicts a flying aircraft. The geometric construction, diagonals, dynamism, and the theme of the machine and flight strongly recall the artistic climate of Italian Futurism and the subsequent Aeropittura investigations.
It recalls Futurism, Futurist, Aeropainting, Aviation, Aeronautics, Airplane, Art Déco, Modernism, Italian Graphic Design of the 1920s, Italian Advertising.
Dimensions: 34.5 × 26.5 cm.
