An artisanal decorative hanging made entirely of natural shells (coquille), dating to around 1970–1990, with dimensions about 70 cm high and 45 cm in diameter.
Description from the seller
Impressive artisanal decorative suspension made entirely of numerous natural shells assembled into garlands.
The structure features several circular levels dressed with natural fibers, from which many rows of small shells hang down. The whole forms a particularly bulky and spectacular piece, with a very beautiful decorative effect when suspended.
The assembly work is particularly dense and requires a large number of shells.
This piece could find its place in a bohemian, ethnic, seaside, or curiosity cabinet decor.
Dimensions:
• Height: about 70 cm
• Maximum diameter: about 45 cm
• Weight: about 1,150 g
Estimated period: second half of the 20th century, probably around 1970–1990.
Materials: natural shells, fibers/string and rigid structure.
Old handcrafted decorative object showing possible small irregularities and age-related traces inherent to its manufacture and age. Overall condition should be assessed precisely from the photographs.
Exceptionally careful packaging given the fragility and volume of the piece.
