Description from the seller
French political and social manifesto, titled "Liberté d'Expression". The poster promoted an important protest meeting against censorship and repression ("Contre la censure et la répression"), organized by the Comité Contre la Censure.
The event took place on February 17 at 8:30 PM at the historic Théâtre de l'Ouest Parisien (M° M. Sembat). Probably in the years between 1968 and 1972.
The graphics are visually striking, characterized by the red-and-white two-tone contrast, with a powerful stylized illustration of a face onto which a zipper has been applied over the mouth, a universal symbol of the deprivation of speech. A piece of great historical value, ideal for collectors of political memorabilia, twentieth-century history, or for interior decor with vintage and industrial design.
Condition of the item
The poster shows the classic and fascinating signs of time that attest to its originality:
* General wear from handling and storage.
* Slight imperfections/tears along the outer edges that do not compromise the main graphic.
* Natural yellowing of the paper, which gives the piece a splendid vintage patina.
* Signs of folding.
Please carefully inspect the attached photos to assess the conservation status in detail.
Packaging
To ensure maximum protection and that the item arrives intact and without further creases, the poster will be shipped inside a rigid cardboard tube (roll) suitable for postal shipments.
