Description from the seller

[Guillaume Du Vair] - On French Eloquence. By G. D. V. Rouen, Claude Le Villain, 1606. Petit in-12, 287 pp., vellum binding of the period, with cords.

This work is a treatise devoted to the art of oratory in the French language. Du Vair lays out the principles of eloquence, the way to compose and deliver a speech, as well as the qualities necessary for the orator.
