TITLE
Jean-Pierre Gault – Miniature Provencal Village in ceramic, 9 hand-painted houses + signed socle – France, 1980s

DESCRIPTION
Rare composition of a miniature Provencal village by Jean-Pierre Gault, a French architect and artist (Bordeaux, 1940), known worldwide for his ceramic miniature houses.

The lot includes 9 original ceramic buildings, molded and entirely hand-painted, and the original travertine-like stone socle. Together they form a Provencal village square:

• medieval tower with exposed stone masonry and arched windows
• house with external staircase and chimney
• double-house with two overlapping roofs
• covered fountain/lavoir with arch
• tall house with green shutters
• house with a barred door and a canopy/awning
• three village houses with arched doors

Each piece features relief roof tiles, aged plaster, and handmade door and shutter details, making each specimen unique.

Marks: the houses bear under the base the stamp "GAULT – Made in France" and production codes (e.g., 4P, 2A). The socle is also signed "GAULT" and stamped "Made in France", with the original felt pads.

Era: original ceramic production, circa the 1980s.
