W04 Godello 2021 from Bodega Submarina del Mediterraneo – The Sea Wine Club, in a 750 ml bottle, Lot 1 bottle.
Description from the seller
W04 Godello 2021 · The First Vintage · An Edition of 1,521 Bottles / bottle no. 37 from 1521
More than 130 years in the vineyard. Two years in oak. A further chapter beneath the Mediterranean.
This bottle belongs to the inaugural 2021 vintage of W04, the Godello in Bodega Submarina del Mediterráneo’s Sea Wine Club collection.
Its journey begins in an exceptional vineyard in Zamora, Spain, at an altitude of over 1,000 metres. Planted more than 130 years ago, these ancient Godello vines bring a rare connection to the past: a living vineyard whose history stretches across generations.
The wine was fermented in 500-litre Stockinger oak barrels and spent two years maturing in oak. Made following a natural winemaking approach, it was conceived with extended bottle ageing in mind.
Its story then continued beneath the Mediterranean Sea through the winery’s underwater maturation process. The bottle offered here bears striking physical traces of that chapter: extensive marine encrustations across the glass and a prominent shell attached to its neck. These details give this particular bottle its own sculptural character, visible in the accompanying photographs.
Only 1,521 bottles were produced in this first vintage. For a collector, W04 2021 offers the opportunity to own the opening chapter of a wine that brings together ancient vines, patient cellar work and maturation beneath the sea.
Offered directly by Bodega Submarina del Mediterráneo in its original branded presentation case, with the winery’s neck tag.
