AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Seiko Sportsmatic
This was the first Seiko watch to be fully designed, developed and produced by Suwa Seikosha — in accordance with Seiko's plans — including the movement, dial, and case. In addition to a simple automatic winding mechanism, water resistance and a shock-resistant movement, the watch distinguished itself by a design focused on excellent legibility. Especially the integrated construction where both the date and the day were displayed in a single window formed a groundbreaking innovation. Additionally, the design reflected the innovative character of the automatic winding feature by placing the crown at the 4 o’clock position, recessed into the case. The Sportsmatic 5 earned much praise for its market success
The watch shows scratches due to age. The glass is in perfect condition, although some wear is visible. The buyer can have the glass replaced if desired.
