Description from the seller
Vintage serving tray with reverse-painted glass – Parisian decor – Very beautiful decorative piece
A very pretty antique/vintage serving tray, particularly original thanks to its under-glass painted scene depicting a Parisian cityscape.
A charming piece, at once a utilitarian object, a decorative item, and a collectible, which will easily find its place in an interior seeking antique objects with character.
This tray is distinguished by its dark wood frame, with warm, deep hues, paired with a decorative composition that is especially refined.
In the center, under glass, there is a painting representing a Parisian urban scene: a street lined with buildings, a canal or watercourse, a small bridge and architecture evoking old Paris. The scene is treated in warm tones of brown, ochre, green, blue and red, giving great depth to the whole.
The painting is surrounded by an inner honey/ochre-colored frame, outlined with dark tracings that perfectly highlight the decor.
The tray also features two integrated side handles, made of several rounded wooden elements, which give it a very decorative and original look.
The back of the tray shows a few traces of wear from time, which do not affect its use in any way
