Description from the seller
JM ROBERT (French artist 1988 )
40x30 cm (unframed) 3D chassis 3.5 cm
Collection "WALL"
Acrylic, spray, coating, collage ..
— Between urban walls and abstraction
JM ROBERT draws inspiration from the walls of cities, from their successive layers, from their graffiti, from their traces and wear. His work transforms these urban fragments into abstract compositions where matter and color seem to accumulate like on a façade over time.
Paintings, signs, spontaneous gestures and impasto layers overlap to create raw, colorful works that are deeply contemporary. Between the energy of graffiti and the freedom of abstraction, JM ROBERT composes a visual language where each layer reveals or conceals the previous one.
His canvases thus become pieces of imaginary walls: fragments of city reinterpreted by painting.
