Description from the seller
Seiko Seikomatic Weekdater 6206-8010 – Vintage automatic watch from 1965 (January 1965)
Classic Japanese automatic watch with caliber 6206A – produced in January 1965
This Seiko Seikomatic Weekdater (ref. 6206-8010AD) is an elegant example of Japanese watchmaking from the 1960s – produced in January 1965 (serial number 51xxxxx).
The watch is part of the early Seikomatic line, which is regarded as the precursor to the later Seiko Lord Matic and Presmatic models and is known for its exceptional build quality and precision.
The heart of the watch is the proven Seiko caliber 6206A with 26 jewels and Diashock shock protection; a robust automatic movement with hand winding and quick-set date. The watch displays the day of the week and the date in separate windows at the 3- and 9-o’clock positions, with an option for an English or Japanese display.
The watch shows scratches from age. The crystal is still in its original state, as on day one. The glass is somewhat worn; a new crystal can be fitted if desired. The date display is not properly adjusted and needs to be checked. Because the watch has not been worn for a long time, it may be running slow or stop altogether. You can have it checked if needed.
