Vase (3) - Ceramic - Art Deco vases + box

Belgian Art Deco ceramics – set of 2 vases and a box, ca. 1920

A splendid and decorative Belgian Art Deco set, consisting of two sculptural vases and a rectangular ceramic box with lid. The three pieces are finished in a striking polychrome glaze with black, dark green, turquoise and red-orange drip/flow effects, typical of decorative Belgian ceramics from the interwar period.

The two vases have a particularly stylized form with three vertical bamboo-like elements on a black foot. The matching box features the same characteristic colors and glaze decoration.

The underside of the box is clearly marked “BELGIUM 761”. The two vases are also marked “BELGIUM” and carry a dating from the period around 1920.

A highly decorative and distinctive set, of interest to collectors of Belgian Art Deco and interwar ceramics.
