Set of three Chinese porcelain plates in famille-rose decor from the Qing dynasty Yongzheng period (1723–1735), hand-painted with a floral basket motif, each with a diameter of about 24 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Set of 3 Chinese famille-rose porcelain plates – bouquet jardinière decor – Qing Dynasty, 18th century
Description
Attractive matching set of three Chinese porcelain plates from the 18th century, hand-painted in the famille-rose palette.
Centrally, each plate features a richly filled flower basket/jardinière with, among other things, large pink flowers and various smaller blooming plants. The basket is rendered in soft pink, turquoise/green, yellow, and gold-like tones. Around the central decoration runs a pink geometric band, while the wide rim is decorated with loose sprigs of flowers and floral motifs.
Although the three plates follow the same decoration, they are clearly individually hand-painted. In the arrangement of the flowers, brushwork, and placement of motifs, small differences are visible. It is precisely this variation that gives the set the character of early Chinese export porcelain.
The plates date from the Qing Dynasty, 18th century, probably from the Qianlong period (1736–1795). The decoration aligns with Chinese famille-rose export porcelain produced during this period for the European market.
Diameter: approx. 24 cm per plate.
