The bottle comes from a first-hand private collection in Düsseldorf, Germany, and was acquired directly as part of a private cellar liquidation in September.

According to the provenance provided, the bottle had remained with its original owner and was stored lying down in the cellar, carefully protected and well packed throughout its storage period.

It was kept under cool, dark and light-protected cellar conditions, appropriate for the long-term storage of fine wine.

This provenance is particularly noteworthy as a 3,000 ml Double Magnum of the 1989 Château Mouton Rothschild from the very same private cellar is also being offered at auction.
