Description from the seller
Two Large Italian Majolica Cachepots / Flower Pots with Relief Flower Decor (Lily & Art Nouveau Motifs), Italy, Mid-20th Century
Description
A beautiful and robust pair of large Italian ceramic cachepots (jardinières), exquisitely executed with intricately decorated reliefs of flowers and botanical motifs in the traditional Italian majolica style. Both pieces display superb craftsmanship, deep sculptural relief work, and a striking glaze, making them true focal points for any interior or bay window.
1. White Lily Cachepot
Design: Featuring a continuous, high-relief sculpted motif of blooming white lilies and buds on a smooth white glazed base.
Interior: Classic craquelure glaze finish with light signs of age and patina on the inside.
Marks: Marked on the bottom with "MADE IN ITALY" and a gold leaf/gilded stamp.
Dimensions: Height: 22 cm | Diameter: 29 cm
Weight: 2760 g
Condition: Good vintage condition. Light craquelé in the glaze appropriate for the age and a minimal chip at the tip of one of the inner stamens (hardly visible). See all photos for a full impression.
2. Green & Turquoise Art Nouveau Cachepot (Model 109)
Design: A deep olive-green exterior adorned with lush Art Nouveau relief motifs, swirls, lilies, and daisies. The interior is finished with a contrasting, vivid turquoise glaze.
Marks: Stamped on the bottom with model number "109".
Dimensions: Height: 26.5 cm | Diameter: 27 cm
Weight: 3160 g
Condition: Reasonable to good vintage condition. Note: there are a few chips visible along the foot rim and a small chip on one of the floral reliefs, as clearly shown in the detail photos. Structurally solid and visually impressive.
Shipping Information & Packaging
Extremely careful packaging: Both items are individually and professionally packed with high-grade protection, consisting of thick layers of bubble wrap, foam wrap, and sturdy cardboard, each in its own box. These two boxes are then shipped together in a single robust shipping carton to maximize safety during transport.
Shipping: Safe, tracked, and insured shipment with tracking code, so you can easily follow the package to your doorstep.
P.S. The photo with the plants was created with AI, and the wine bottle is only to illustrate scale and is not part of the lot.
