Olive bonsai (Olea europaea) - Height (Tree): 45 cm - Depth (Tree): 45 cm - Italy

This specimen shows excellent potential and high-quality characteristics. The value is determined by several key factors:
Trunk taper: The base of the trunk is exceptionally wide and robust, with a pronounced taper that narrows as it rises.
Bark character: The bark features a rough, aged texture. This gives the plant an appearance of great age.
Dry wood (Shari/Sabamiki): The deep natural cavity in the trunk and the exposed wooden structure are a prized feature. They are the result of natural events that have shaped the plant, adding drama and history, qualities typical of the Ikada (raft) or Han-kengai (semi-cascade) style, which make the specimen unique.
Movement: The trunk has a strong, sinuous movement that creates a dynamic and interesting line.
In conclusion, this is a piece of high-quality raw material (High Grade Material). Once cleaned and repotted into an appropriate pot, its value would increase substantially. It is a bonsai with strong character and a bright future.
