AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

The Canyon Diablo meteorites, or Diablo Canyon, are several fragments of an asteroid that impacted the Earth about 50,000 years ago, creating Meteor Crater, also called Barringer, near the so-called Canyon Diablo, Arizona, USA.

The impact was caused by a large iron-iron alloy asteroid, leaving one of the most spectacular and large craters known, as well as a multitude of metallic fragments scattered in the surroundings.

In this lot we present a specimen of good size, perfectly preserved, of good quality and with spectacular form, and a multitude of regmaglyphs (somewhat uncommon in this type of meteorite and that increases its value) to add to your collection. A healthy meteorite, without bothersome oxides and with its natural patina. The white areas are ‘caliche’, small deposits of lime that have adhered over the years, which are part of the natural beauty of these meteorites and attest to their 50,000-year age on Earth.

An excellent opportunity to add this universe’s marvel to your collection. Museum-grade quality.

All our meteorites come with an IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association) certificate, guaranteeing the authenticity of all our meteorites for life. Buy with confidence.

Best regards and our warmest wishes.
