Description from the seller
Around Italy - 01 (n.757)
The measurements are:
- collage: 40.00 x 50.00 cm
Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper turns into art instead of ending up in the trash.

Series "Around Italy" - With the Around Italy series I explore the hidden soul of Italy through the art of fragment.
A tactile journey through the hidden beauties of the Italian peninsula. In this series, the architecture of the villages and lesser-known views of our Bel Paese are deconstructed and rebuilt through countless fragments of recycled paper and everyday cutouts.
“Around Italy” is a series of material works that re-read Italian landscapes and architectures through meticulous collage work. Bits of paper, fragments of daily life and color overlap. Not a simple landscape, but a real contemporary mosaic that returns the energy and colors of the Bel Paese.

A few days of delay may be caused by customs clearance at borders.
Shipping takes about 7 days; about 10 days for non-EU countries.

Different light sources can confer different colors to photos.
In the case of works that I frame directly, the dimensions may vary slightly as I personally prepare the wooden frame, stretch the canvas and then mount it on the frame.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I resumed with the “two dimensions” for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imagined and actually existing.
For me painting is to “lock time” in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are “worn, eroded by time.” Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are street scenes of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that—in time—grow on the surface.
Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works.
Having had a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable by touch as well as to the naked eye.
In this latest period, after several years in which my works were made from bits of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor that seen up close seem to form a bright abstract painting, but the further you move away the more a figure portrait formed by many painted wooden discs emerges.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they don’t have the strength or courage to report that they are not the dolls of their partners and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
