Description from the seller
Important long vintage coat in authentic fur, made for Eichmeyer & Co. Hamburg, characterized by sophisticated geometric craftsmanship and an extraordinary length of about 124 cm.
A garment with great presence, expression of the European vintage fur tradition, in which the fur is not used merely as a surface but carefully arranged to create an elaborate chevron pattern that runs along the entire silhouette.
The construction is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating elements of the coat. The fur sections are oriented diagonally and converge toward the center forming a succession of wide V-shaped lines, particularly spectacular on the back. The result is an extremely harmonious composition that visually slims the garment and demonstrates a much more elaborate workmanship than a simple vertical arrangement.
The fur presents a deep chocolate brown tone, enriched with chestnut shades and notable shine. Observed up close it reveals a dense mantle, with numerous glossy guard hairs that react to light, creating intense reflections and notable color depth.
The wide fur-trimmed lapel collar continues elegantly along the front of the coat, forming an important vertical edging that further emphasizes the length of the garment.
With a length of about 122–124 cm, it is an authentic maxi coat: a proportion not common today, capable of creating an extremely elegant and dramatic silhouette when worn.
The sleeves are wide and likewise constructed with fur sections oriented to reproduce the geometric pattern of the body.
Particularly notable is the back, where the workmanship reaches its maximum expression: the diagonal bands converge symmetrically along the central axis, forming a long sequence of V motifs from the upper part down to the hem.
The interior is fully lined with a coordinated brown lining. The original label is present:
Eichmeyer & Co. – HAMBURG
that documents the garment's origin from German furrier.
Measurements taken by hand with the garment laid flat:
* Across chest (pit to pit): about 58–60 cm
* Total length: about 122–124 cm
To assess fit correctly, please refer primarily to the actual measurements.
The coat appears visually very well preserved, with fur that looks full, even, and notably bright. Close-up photographs allow appreciation of the mantle's texture and, above all, the complex geometric arrangement of the various sections.
The images are an integral part of the description and accurately document the fur, workmanship, interior and the original label.
An important vintage coat from a German furrier, distinguished by three particularly interesting features: the maxi length of about 124 cm, the sophisticated chevron workmanship, and the provenance identified as Eichmeyer & Co., Hamburg.
A garment of exceptional presence, designed for those seeking authentic European vintage fur and elaborate workmanship hardly found in contemporary production.
